Do you need a few thousand books moved? We did but not now!
Collaboration was in ACTION this past week as many students helped us move all the library books from the Satellite Center to our new shelves in the CUBE.
Students loaded the carts with books, rolled them down the hallway, and then unloaded them onto the new shelves with some guidance from us. We even had students who dusted the shelves in both places for us!
What a learning experience! I learned that even though I thought I was organized, using my whole Advisory class at once to start the move was challenging. Narrowing it down to 3 or 4 students helping at one time made for more efficient work by all!
It was a joy to watch them work together and practice their Dewey Decimal skills to be sure the books were in the correct order on the shelves. The hardest part? Telling many students who came down yesterday afternoon that this project is done. Enjoy the pictures. Thank you, DPM students for the help! Who knows what project we will tackle next?
